Friends of the Paonia Public Library was founded in 1985 with the
stated purpose, “To serve as a source of financial aid to the
Paonia Public Library. It shall serve as an educational, economic,
charitable and labor source for the projects, undertakings, studies,
and any other activity in cooperation and coordination with the Paonia
Public Library.” All money received goes directly to the
Paonia Public Library to purchase books and other materials; support
Paonia Library sponsored programs such as the summer reading program,
book discussions, teen and family nights; to support the Paonia
Library Foundation Building Fund.

What is the Paonia Public Library Foundation?
A nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that owns and maintains the library
building for the community. The Foundation was formerly the local
library board before formation of the Delta County Public Library
District. |
|
|
|
How do we compare to the other libraries in
Delta County?
The Delta County Public Library District has a long range
plan. The Number One Goal of that plan is: “To provide adequate,
flexible, attractive and efficiently designed areas in which to provide
excellent library service in each community.” By December
31, 2007, each community library will have had its space needs addressed
in the manner most appropriate.” |
|
Paonia Library is the next library in Delta
County to meet this goal! • Delta Public Library
has just finished a major renovation • Crawford Public Library
has almost completed its fund raising, has acquired a site and is
completing the building design • Hotchkiss finished its
new library five years ago • Cedaredge is beginning an expansion
project because its ten-year old library is already too small |
